Vision

Initiative ProDialog aims to promote the communication and the exchange between politics, civil society and business so as to build a vibrant, inclusive democracy and a strong social sector with engaged citizens and accountable, responsive leaders.

Our society faces enormous challenges. Globalization, demographic change and digitization are some of the developments which affect not only the German society. Due to these developments it becomes increasingly difficult for politicians to reach the citizens; the intermediation of political and societal problems by public stakeholders more and more fails. As a result citizens are not able to understand the political processes and the decisions taken by politicians and the government. Similarly for politicians it is hard to figure out, what is really going on in society.

However those changes in society do not only challenge political actors. In times of a fragmented media structure non-governmental organizations have to find new ways to raise public awareness on their concerns and projects as well as to mobilize supporters for their cause.

Values

The work of Initiative ProDialog is based on the idea of dialogue. We belief, that exchange and communication between the different stakeholders allows for trust and a new understanding between politics, civil society and business as well as for generating useful knowledge. We are convinced that trust and understanding are essential for a vibrant democracy and a strong civil society.
